Drugs and alcohol
Our Approach: Harm reduction
At LJMU we acknowledge that some of our students may choose to use drugs and alcohol. The university does not condone drug use, including the use of illegal drugs and misuse of medication or alcohol, but we do take a harm reduction approach, ensuring that students can access non-judgemental support, services and resources. Our aim is to help you make informed choices and stay safe.
Drugs and alcohol can affect your mood, sleep, mental health and ability to fully participate in university life. If you’re feeling low, anxious, or overwhelmed, you’re not alone, support is available.
You can find out more about our approach in our Alcohol policy and Drug policy.
