Support in a global crisis
At Liverpool John Moores University, we understand that global conflicts and humanitarian disasters can deeply affect our international student community. Whether you are directly impacted or concerned for loved ones, we're here to support you.
How we can help
Wellbeing Support
Our Student Wellbeing Team offers confidential support and someone to talk to if you're feeling overwhelmed or anxious. You can contact the team via studentwellbeing@ljmu.ac.uk.
Self-help resources
We provide a range of wellbeing resources and self-help materials that are available year-round. These can help you manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges during difficult times.
Student advice and peer support
The JMSU (John Moores Students’ Union) Advice Centre offers free, confidential, and independent advice to all LJMU students. You can contact them at advice@ljmu.ac.uk to arrange a phone call or appointment.
You may also find comfort and connection through our student societies and cultural communities, which offer peer-to-peer support and shared experiences.
Academic support
If your studies are being affected, please contact your School Office, Personal Tutor or Programme Leader. They can help you explore options such as extensions, mitigating circumstances, or academic support.
International Student Support
Our International Student Advice Team is here to help with practical matters such as immigration advice, and accessing the LJMU Student Support Fund which is administered by our Money Advice Team. Contact us at internationaladvice@ljmu.ac.uk.
